FAQ
What are Beeswax Wraps and What are they made of?
Devon Beeswax Food Wraps are a natural and zero-waste alternative to cling film, plastic food bags and aluminium foil. They are a great way to support your household into reducing the amount of single use plastic that is sent to landfill every week.
The wraps can be used in the fridge or freezer and can be re-used after washing gently in cool water with a drop of dish soap, rinsed and air dried on the draining board. With care our beeswax wraps will last for up to 12 months.
The only magic ingredient not included is the warmth of y6ur hands to activate the food wraps so that they stick and mould to bowls, plates and to itself.
Ingredients
Our wraps are made from:
- 100% cotton fabric OEKO-TEX (Standard 100) certified. The fabric has been tested to be free from any harmful levels of toxins or chemicals.
- Food Grade BP Beeswax. Beeswax has antibacterial and anti-fungal (anti-mould) properties. It creates a waterproof seal within and upon the fibres of the fabric.
- Food Grade (WW) Pine resin. Used in our special beeswax recipe this ingredient creates the stickiness of our beeswax food wraps.
- Jojoba Oil, 100% organically certified. With antibacterial properties, the addition of oil creates a food wrap that can be malleable so it can be folded and moulded to metal or ceramic items or to itself with the warmth of your hands.

How do I use my Devon Beeswax Wrap?
Fold the beeswax wrap over the item and use the warmth of your hand and fingers to activate the stickiness in the wrap. Hold for a few seconds until warmed by you and the wrap will stick to a ceramic, glass or metal bowl or plate. The wrap can also stick to itself if needed. For a snug fit pleat at corners or whilst going around circular bowls, press the pleat fold to the wrap and bowl at the same time to stick together.
For covering fruit and vegetables wrap around sliced area or item and stick the wrap to itself with the warmth of your hands and fingers. This will seal the open sliced side or encase the item. Place in fridge if needed.
